The Nigerian Sex Workers Association has revealed that the ongoing industrial action embarked  by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will lead to an increase in the number of female prostitutes. A 13-year-old  Ghanaian girl identified as  Faustina Korankye,  has beaten her 14-year-old friend named Maa Abena to death at Asamang in the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency of the Ashanti Region. Thre two engaged in a fight allegedly over a young man in the area. A family member of the deceased in an interview with Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo disclosed that the deceased was stabbed by her friend Faustina Korankye, but thanks to the efforts of doctors she survived. The bad blood between the two rivals was so intense that they again engaged in a fierce fight on Thursday evening during which Faustina punched the same spot the deceased was stabbed last month with a hefty blow, sending Maa Abena to the ground writhing in severe pain. Two fake blind beggars have been arrested by policemen attached to the Imo State University, Owerri campus. Their arrest, PUNCH reports, followed intelligence information given to the police by some students of the institution who said the two young men who had been begging for alms on the campus were not blind as they had claimed. A student leader, Chidi Onyeji, told Southern City News that the fake blind men were apprehended by the police at the main gate of the varsity.
