Lebanese and Nigerians clash over land dispute in Abuja There was confusion in Abuja on Thursday between the Residents of Games Village Estate and the leader of the Lebanese community, Albert Alwan, for allegedly blocking the road to the estate with a container. The Lebanese community was said to have claimed a portion of the estate on which they reportedly wanted to build a church, but the residents denied them access to the plot. The police is currently searching for a fraud suspect who reportedly abducted a boy and used him in exchange for food materials. An unidentified middle-aged man abducted a 10-year-old boy, who was on an errand for his mother, and exchanged him for three bags of rice in Ijegun area of Lagos. While communicating through his official Twitter handle to millions of his followers on Saturday, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, disclosed that he still irons his wife’s clothes. Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Friday said his administration would host Muslims in 20 centres across the state for the Eid-el-Fitri celebration as part of its strategy to bring about bonding among the people and enhance community participation in governance. A Customs officer, identified as Emmanuel Ugwoke, has been remanded in prison for drug trafficking by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday. Ugwoke, a resident of Badagry in Lagos, is said to have been dismissed from service, and had served at the Seme border post of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). He was arraigned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on two counts of drug trafficking. He was alleged to have unlawfully trafficked about 394 kg of Cannabis Sativa a. k. a Hemp. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecution alleged that he committed the offence on May 14, at Gbaji Customs check point along Seme-Badagry Road. The accused who is said to be a driver of the Customs vehicle, was alleged to have knowingly transported the prohibited ‘weed’ in a Toyota Hilux belonging to the NCS. The prosecutor, Mr Aliyu Abubakar, said that the offences contravened the provisions of sections 19, 20(1)(a) and 20 (2) of the NDLEA Act. Cap N30 L

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has been advised by a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, to invite former President Olusegun Obasanjo and a former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, and other elder statesmen to an emergency meeting over the increasing secessionist agitations.
