Even after three decades of reign as highlife maestro, ‘Guitar Boy’, as he is fondly  called, Sir Victor Uwaifo, has remained relevant on the Nigerian music scene by reason of his evergreen songs, like ‘Mami Water’, ‘Guitar Boy’, andmany others. In an exclusive chat, the one-time Edo State Commissioner for Arts and Culture opened up to Showtime  that Jaywon and Simi did not obtain copyright permission from him before recording a remix of his hit song, ‘Joromi’. “They didn’t contact me before doing a remix of Joromi; but I’m like a father to them so I can’t begin to drag them to court, so let them make a living out of it, but at the same time it’s piracy”, he said. Some Nigerians who travelled to Russia to witness the 2018 world cup now stranded in Russia

 Nigerians who traveled to witness the 2018 World Cup in Russia are being stranded and unable to go back home to Nigeria, Some of the travelers who fled into other countries from Russia to obtain  visa's are also getting stranded in the process. According to the reports, the victims have only FAN IDs, which the Russian government issued as a visa substitute to foreigners traveling to attend the FIFA World Cup. This means they can’t use the document to get a job. With nowhere to go, they’re going about Russia looking for help. According to them “We came here to come and plead to our government in Nigeria because all of us came here to watch football, and we paid our flight tickets to and fro. “But unfortunately, we cannot get return back to Nigeria because our return tickets were cancelled and it is so disappointing to us as we never planned to stay in Russia.” “We want to go back and that is why we are pleading to both our government and that of Russia to help us.”
